The bench at the north end of Foxes’ Field has been replaced by Bromley Council.
The bench was installed by the Mottingham Festival Committee as a retiring gesture, but was destroyed by a stolen vehicle attempting to evade the long arm of the law.
Representation was made by the MRA committee to gain recompense from the vehicle insurers. Unfortunately, this was declined since the driver of the vehicle was not able to be identified, even though a fleeing gentleman was taken into custody by law officers.
Many thanks to Bromley Council for that and also the protective fence now in position.
